Vacation Time And What to Do With It

It's Sunday afternoon and I am sitting in my classroom working on my lesson plans for my last week of school before Christmas break. Of all the benefits of being a teacher, I have to say that the vacation days are one of the best!
Our Christmas parties have begun. We had two on Friday and one on Saturday. We have four more this week. I love this time of year - getting together with friends and family and enjoying the spirit of the season.
At our staff Christmas party the other night it was made known to all of my colleagues that I have never made a snowman. I know that comes as a big shock to everyone. I am determined to go out in the next couple of weeks to build one with Ben. We have a lot of snow right now in Michigan!
The other thing I am looking forward to doing in the next couple of weeks is making a trip up to Munising, Michigan to spend a few days with Ben and Brooke Franklin. My Ben has not yet met Brooke and her Ben so we are really looking forward to it! I will also get to see their second child for the first time. They have two kids now - Emma who just turned 2 and Ryan who was born in September. I promise to learn how to put pictures on my blog so that I can post some of the Franklin family when I return.

Kelly!
You have GOT to get outside and make a snowman!! Although I can't say that I have personally made a snowman in the last several years...it's atleast worth doing once...if only just to say that you've done it. I must say though that I have made it a point to make a snow angel atleast once a season! :) It's the only way to stay young! :)
PLEASE say hello to Ben and Brooke for Nathan and me! I don't know if you know this, but we are expecting in may! I am half way done baking this little bun in the oven! Do you have their email address or mailing address? I would love to send them a Christmas card or catch them by email sometime.
Have a merry Christmas and have fun with your Ben's! :)
See ya,
Shyla

Hooray! You finally have time to blog again! Take a picture when you make that snowman. I too, along with Shyla, LOVE making snow angels; you can also make them on the kitchen floor, especially with Bing Crosby singing in the background. :)

I didn't know Brooke and Ben had a second child! Last time I saw them, they were about a week away from having their first. When I student-taught at Coleman, I drove in with Brooke almost every day and loved getting to know her. Tell her I said hi. And do post some pictures!

Merry Christmas!
