As I mentioned in a previous post, we were given many wonderful gifts on Saturday. Unfortunately, Owen was also given an awful cold. It's his first time being sick and it is NO fun! He is very congested and has a terrible cough. He has a hard time eating because he can't breath through his nose very well and he just isn't comfortable. I can now understand why some mom's insist that people use hand sanitizer before holding their baby and don't let sick people snuggle with them. In the future I will be more vocal about who can cuddle my boy because he's the one who pays.

Poor litle guy. I feel bad for him! He did get cuddled and kissed by LOTS of people.
I know. I don't mind having him passed around. I just wish that sick people wouldn't hold him. At work I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer by his bassinet for people to put on before holding him and those that are sick know to stay away. I cannot believe how much snot comes out of one little nose!
Just for the record I did not even hold him. So next time your in town, I am FIRST in line.

I was kinda surprised you didn't snag him away from Chris.
I know infant colds are the WORST! Lukek had his first at 5 weeks. Yuck! I remember him being so congested & unable to nurse, I turned the shower on for a while and went and sat on the toilet and nursed him! We were pretty damp when we came out, but at least he got some nourishment. I'll pray Owen gets better SOON!
Poor little Owen! I am so sorry to hear that he isn't feeling well. Logan got his first cold when he was 3.5 weeks old. He slept for a few nights in his carseat. He did so much better sitting up.
I never hold babies when I'm sick, I think people should know enough to watch from a distance when they are. Hope he is feeling better soon. It was nice to see your little family. :)
I never got to hold Owen either. I always felt that I was taking him away and felt bad about it. Sunday was kinda the same. Maybe the next time - if he is still going to people by then and I am not sick!
