The Creation Museum

Last weekend Ben surprised me with a two night get away. This semester has been crazy-busy with very little family time. It was a much needed break for us. He booked a room for us at hotwire.com. We got a very inexpensive hotel room in downtown Cincinnati, for which we were thankful. When we got there we realized we got much more than a hotel room. It was a suite larger than our apartment. It had two bedrooms, a very large bathroom, a big living room, dining room, and a full size kitchen complete with dishes, pots, and pans - none of which I used!
We visited the Creation Museum on Saturday morning. It was great! It's a little pricey, but I do recommend it. What I loved about it was the fact that Scripture was everywhere. Even better, is that there was a very clear gospel message. There are a lot of religious people who claim belief in the creation story, yet do not understand the plan of salvation. People of many different backgrounds, I believe, will visit this museum simply because they believe that a "Higher Power" created this world. Those that designed this museum obviously have more than a religion - they have a relationship with Jesus Christ. And rather than just trying to prove that a "god" made the universe, they also make known that Jesus is God and came to this earth to die for sinners. I am so thankful that God is using this museum to reach people and spread the gospel. I didn't expect to walk through the museum and leave spiritually challenged, but I was.

This is inside the ark. It was really neat to walk around inside of it. They also had a small replica where you could see the inside of the entire ark.
The size of the ark must have been incredible!
The sight of these people screaming for help was very moving.

A large group of people from our church here in Owosso went and helped build parts of the Creation Museum as a missions service project and they go back there all the time!

isn't that the best place? we used to live just a few mile from there and have lots of friends that work at the museum. God is really using it to minister to both believers and the lost. glad you were able to enjoy it - we really miss cincinnati!

I made John read your post. We are super excited about going to see the museum, if the Lord allows. We appreciate Ken Ham's work. So many Christians believe in evolution and try to cram it into the Bible, anyway it's a hot topic. We appreciate his burden. If one can't believe the plain language of the 1st chapter of the Bible, they may still love Jesus, but what they're really saying to the unsaved world is that the Bible is unreliable and why should they really bother with the gospel. Plus, there would have to be death before Adam, etc. etc. I can go on and on and on...

What a fun weekend! We just had the Answers in Genesis conference at church, and Matt keeps saying how it would be great to take the youth group to that museum...but, it's a little far away and pricey for now! (and I think it's so sweet that Ben planned time away for you guys!)

We went last year on our way to Tennessee and we loved it. We are planning to go again in May. Did you watch the planetarium show? It moved me to tears!

Don,
Really? It was that good? After spending so much to get into the museum, we opted not to pay extra for the planetarium. I guess we should have.

Heather,
He slept great. I am so thankful for a good sleeper.
