This next election is so important. While you may be tired of politics, please take a minute to continue reading.
While I am well aware that Barack Obama is ahead in the polls and is a very popular candidate by both conservatives and liberals alike, I am not a fan of his. I have some very serious concerns about his policies and positions on a number of issues. Let me be very clear in stating that I do not completely support Senator McCain; however, it is my opinion that he is by far the better candidate in the 2008 presidential election. I do not wish to engage in a heated political debate on this blog. My only desire is to inform because it is my belief that many Americans are being deceived by the Obama campaign and are simply unaware of the facts. I have spent numerous hours researching Obama’s voting record, relationships, education, and political career. You may disagree with me, and that is fine. Again, I do NOT wish to debate politics here. My goal is to spread the word about a man that should not be trusted. I know this is lengthy. I tried to put the information in bullet points for a quick overview. While my opinions are given in some areas, you’ll find that for the most part I am simply stating the facts to the best of my knowledge and research.
Below are the areas in which I disagree with Senator Obama. (Yes, I am aware that in a few areas McCain leans the same way.)
* His voting record shows that while he is “present” in Congress, he often chooses not to vote.
* He voted “yes” on allowing illegal aliens to participate in social security.
* He voted to raise minimum wage by over $2 an hour. This would undoubtedly result in many employees being cut as well as the cost of goods to go up.
* He chose not to vote on legislation to prohibit funds from being grated to organizations that perform abortion. (It’s one thing to be pro-choice. It’s quite another to force me, a taxpayer, to pay for the murder of unborn children).
* He voted “no” on a bill to prohibit minors from crossing state lines for abortions.
* He voted “no” on a bill requiring parents to be notified if their minor child crossed state lines to get an abortion.
* Senator Biden voted that it would NOT be a criminal penalty for harming an unborn baby during another crime. (Obama chose not to vote)
* Senator Biden voted “no” on a ban for human cloning. (Obama chose not to vote)
* Senator Biden voted “no” on maintaining a ban on military base abortions. (Obama chose not to vote)
* Obama voted “no” against a ban on partial birth abortion (an abortion on a full term baby who is completely delivered except for the head. Before the baby’s head is delivered it is stabbed and crushed so that the skull collapses before exiting the mother’s body completely).
* He voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act which would provide care and treatment to babies who survive abortions. Obama would rather the infant survivor lay in a hospital waiting to die. He is pro-choice to an extreme!
* Obama voted “no” on declaring English as the official language of the U.S. government.
* Voted “yes” on a path to make illegal immigrants citizens.
* He is willing to meet with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela, and North Korea in Washington, or anywhere else, without preconditions.
* He co-sponsored legislation that would provide funding for social services for noncitizens. While he may not support spending tax dollars on the war in Iraq, he doesn’t seem to have a problem spending money on noncitizens in our own backyard.
* Obama’s polices have not helped the economy in Illinois, why will they help an entire nation?
* Obama voted that sex education should begin in kindergarten.
* Senator Obama opposes putting internet filters in schools
(I won’t be surprised if under his administration the government begins to regulate and control private, faith-based schools as well. I also expect that in time, homeschooling will be outlawed).
* Senator Obama favors affirmative action which requires universities and employers to accept people based on their race rather than by their abilities.
* Speaking of race, he is constantly playing the race card by assuming people oppose him because he is black. Yet, for over 20 years he was a member of a VERY racist church where he repeatedly heard sermons bashing white, rich people.
* He opposed the ban on same sex marriage in California.
* He opposed the Federal Marriage Amendment to ban gay marriage nationally.
* He believes that it is appropriate to expose children (he mentioned six year olds) to gay couples during reading time at school. (For example, he favors allowing the teacher to read a book to the class about a child with two dads).
* He supports civil unions between homosexual couples that would provide them with all the benefits that are available for a legally sanctioned marriage. He basically believes in gay marriage without using the word “marriage.”
* He battles legislatively against the death penalty.
* He endorsed the Illinois handgun ban.
* He voted against the use of firearms for self defense.
* He favors end-of-life-medication for those who want to die (similar to assisted suicide) Legalized abortion and suicide are just steps away from euthanasia.
* He supports universal health care. I know that many people think universal health care is just a fabulous idea. Before you get too excited, be sure to examine those countries that already have it because the citizens of those countries hate it! It’s too much describe here.
* By his own admission, Obama would favor a national smoking ban in all public places if we don’t see enough progress at the local level. (I HATE cigarette smoke, but even I have a problem with this. This is just another example of a basic right that Senator Obama wants to take away.)
* He is all about big government that regulates EVERYTHING (see example above)
* He opposes privatizing social security – but let’s not forget that he supports the aliens benefiting from our social security.
* He has very little political experience
* He is not prepared to be commander-in-chief, not only because he willing to meet with evil dictators who would love to destroy America, but because he is weak. He opposed the war from the start.
* Neither Obama or Biden ever served in the military and they often vote against the military.
* Senator Obama was rated the most liberal in 2007 by the National Journal.
* He is never willing to stand up in opposition to his political party which would make bipartisanship nearly impossible for him.
*Senator Obama will raise taxes – which by the way, will not help to stimulate the economy.
* Obama has many questionable and close friendships with extremists such as Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers. Ayers is a terrorists who admits to bombing the Pentagon and has stated that he does not regret it. He was instrumental in helping Obama begin his political career. Wright was Obama’s pastor for over 20 years and he is famous for his hate filled sermons.
* Under an Obama administration I fear that some of our basic first amendment rights will be in jeopardy. His campaign has threatened legal action over ads that oppose him. In St. Louis authorities were threatening libel prosecutions for those speaking out against Senator Obama. (Interestingly enough, while he is opposed to some forms of self expression, he favors other forms. He voted “no” on a constitutional ban on flag desecration.)
* There is some question with regard to whether or not Obama favors the Fairness Doctrine.
* He wants to strengthen legislation on hate crimes. I believe that in time, a Sunday morning sermon against homosexuality or other such sins that are culturally acceptable, will be considered a “hate crime.”

***The terrorists across the seas are HOPING Obama wins the presidency. This may just be the only red flag I need.
Before you go to the polls on November 4th, be sure to do your homework. Do not just listen to the rhetoric, examine the facts and look at the voting records.

You have done a su-PERB layout of the major issues that every American needs to address. I can't help but foresee a dictator-like regime in our future if he is elected. Mass control always starts out small, asking for little compromises, but it always consumes its prey. His voting record is THE BIGGEST red flag, it is the X that marks the spot, it is the evidence that "9-11 investigators were looking for"- meaning, Americans need to look at the big picture BEFORE HE IS PRESIDENT RATHER than seeing it, regretfully, in hindsight. We are a free society with liberties fought for us by our forefathers, so think critically!!

Why don't you tell us what you really think? Seriously, Good job. I am afraid that we may soon find ourselves, like Daniel, in a godless governement which opposes all we believe in. But we like him can still worship our God and count on Him to be faithful.
You've never been afraid to speak your mind... good for you. It looks like you did your research. I am suprised that you don't have more comments given all this information. It makes me wonder how many of your readers are Obama supporters and are not speaking up in his defense.

I just hope the lack of comments ISN'T because people don't care or think the post is too long to read. Christians need to get involved and be informed. I do appreciate, however, that I'm not getting nasty comments from people wanting to argue. :)
One of the most appalling and frightening pieces of "new" (yet, not so new) information I have come across on Obama is his connection with his cousin, Raila Odinga, a Kenyan marxist/communist, who he stumped for in Aug 2006---a trip supported by taxpayer money!! Odinga signed an alliance with radical Muslim extremists and wanted to place the Kenyan nation under Sharia law. After Odinga lost the election, he claimed the vote was rigged and he rallied his Orange democratic party to bloodshed on the streets, pillaging/raping/killing people and even setting fire to innocent women and children hiding in churches. VERY VERY interesting connection. Why in the world has Obama been going to Kenya to rally support for a radical Muslime extremist named Raila Odinga? Makes you wonder....
