Chores

At 19 months of age Owen doesn't exactly have "chores," but he does have a few things he is expected to do. He has to throw his diapers away after he is changed. He has to go get his shoes when it's time to go somewhere and put them back when we get home. He puts his toys away when he's done playing with them. After he throws all the magnets off the refrigerator and the crayons out of their box, he must return them to their spot. He is quite the little helper. And after he took the initiative to climb into the dishwasher when my back was turned to hand me the dishes, I'm starting to thing he can take over that job too! Okay, so maybe it's wishful thinking.

Now that's just so cute!! I'm all for the boys doing the dishes for us! That's one of my least favorite chores!

Ahh yes, loading and unloading the dishes. Lana has been "helping" me do this for months, and sometimes it is less help than help, but that is ok, they think that they are helping!! :) She used to take out clean dishes and put them on the floor-not so much help :)

He is such a good boy! Even my kids have a hard time putting their crayons away- and they are old.

Looks like a great helper you have.
I should be doing a better job at getting the girls to do chores on a regular basis. They do put their dirty dishes in the dish wash and thought my 14 month old niece should be doing the same when she spend a few days with us.

Tracey, (or really any of you)
A friend of mine gave me a list of age-appropriate household chores that children should be doing. It was written by a mother of 7 who homeschools her children. Let me know if you want me to email it you!

What a sweet little boy you are, O-bug!! So glad to see those curls are still large and in charge....
His climbing onto the dishwasher is a progression from when I was down in February.
Have fun this weekend w/ Drew and Amanda. I saw them last night at the Y and they're pretty excited to come down and hang out with you guys. Wish I could be there! Hope you're feeling OK, Kel.
