Sledding

Our Christmas vacation did not begin as we expected. Owen caught a nasty stomach bug on Monday, December 21. He was very sick for over a week with diarrhea and vomiting. Owen shared his sickness with Ben, me, Grandpa Glupker, Grandma Glupker, Aunt Sarah and then Uncle Drew - though I think Uncle Drew picked it up somewhere else. Thankfully the rest of us were only sick for 24 hours.
While our time in Michigan was not what we expected, we still had a great time. We love being with our family. We laugh a lot, eat a lot, play a lot and genuinely enjoy being together. Although we did miss out on church and every single extended family Christmas party, we did enjoy the following: a visit to Bronners, picking out and cutting down the Christmas tree, ice skating, sledding, building a snowman, shopping, tickets to hear the comedian Jim Gaffigan, family portraits, euchre, food, movies, out of town visitors, our annual chimichanga night (complete with homemade tortillas and guacamole) and TONS of laughter. My sister and I were even able to spend an entire day together without kids, thanks to our husbands.
Here are some pictures of Owen's first time sledding. My brother-in-law pulled the kids around on his four wheeler through the trails on their property. Owen had a blast!

Bundled and ready to go

And they're off . . .
