Extended Family

I took about 200 pictures while we were away this last weekend. I won't be posting them all, but here are a few of my favorites. This first one is a picture of my children with their great-grandparents. Owen had only met them once before when he was 10 months old. This was Aubrey's first time meeting them. The kids ran right up to them and offered big hugs and kisses the moment they met. Aubrey is crying in this picture but it's only because she got knocked in the head right before we took it.

We spent the weekend in Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. Our family along with Ben's parents, sister and brother met up with Ben's grandparents and aunt and uncle and cousin on his mother's side. We only see these family members every few years. They do live in Michigan, but they live in the upper peninsula. For my Kentucky friends - that's far away. It's about a 9 hour drive north of where we currently live. Because it's too long of a trip for us to make in a weekend it was decided that we would all meet in Mackinaw. I'm so thankful everyone's schedule was able to coordinate this trip. It was a great weekend and now a special memory of time well spent.
