Maybe my kids are just kinesthetic learners, but tell them a story with props and they thrive. They retell the story over and over while acting it out with their toys. Last Easter I taught them the resurrection using Resurrection Eggs. To this day, Owen can explain that story. So this year I looked for a sale and a coupon and purchased a toy nativity set for the kids to play with. Owen calls it the "Away in a Manger" toys and he plays with it a lot. He loves it. And I love that the beautiful story of the birth of Jesus is being cemented in their young minds.

Owen said Baby Jesus needed to take his nap under the tree so that he wouldn't get a sunburn.
