Ben's Birthday

Sunday was Ben's 31st birthday! Last year I threw him a surprise birthday bash for his 30th, so this year was a much simpler celebration. On Friday I had over our families: parents, siblings and spouses, nephews. We had a nice time playing games, visiting, eating, and so on. Ben got some nice gifts too - at least I thought they were nice. Of course, I am the one who told everybody what "he" wanted. Since he didn't actually tell me what he wanted I just kind of told people what I thought he might want which happens to include things I would like him to have. Know what I mean? He got a memory chip for the digital camera, a paper shredder, several shirts, socks, money, gift cars to Barnes and Noble, and his favorite: the New International Bible Encyclopedia. I ordered it for him from the CBD catalog with some Mary Kay money I had set aside. He seemed very surprised when he opened it.
Of course I took pictures of all this, but wouldn't you know our computer won't download them! I am starting to wonder if something is wrong with our camera.
I remember back when Alicia and Katie celebrated their own birthdays by listing a blessing for every year. Well, here is my list of 31 things about my husband that I really appreciate:
1. He is a true servant
2. He is really funny
3. He loves the Lord

What a great idea to write birthday blessings about your husband. That is a very good thing to do! Sounds like you have a wonderful husband. I am sure he enjoyed all of his presents!

I'm glad you are so happily married:) Sounds like a great guy. Jonny and I love to play euchre as well- although I never knew how to spell it before:)

Awwwww, this is so sweet Kelly! Sounds like a great guy for you and a great party. Did he read your blog post honoring him?

Weird to think that our hubbies are over the 30 mark, eh? I used to think 30 was SO OLD.

Praise God for giving us the perfect-complementary hubbies we have!

Alicia,
I was hoping Ben would read this post, but since he hasn't mentioned it yet, I don't think he has. He would probably be embarrassed.
So you used to think 30 was old huh? I still do! Just kidding :)
How old is Matt? - if that isn't rude to ask.

Matt is 31 (I think). he really didn't care when he turned 30. He says he feels like an old man anyways!

Alicia,
He better not feel old! 31 will seem especially young when he's 41, 51, 61 . . .
