Christina - My Blog Savior

I enjoy surfing the internet and reading the blogs of so many friends. I am often amazed at the different things you all can add to your blog page. There is a reason why I don't have a profile picture, links on my blog, or nice comments under each individual picture - I DON'T KNOW HOW!!!

Well yesterday I was looking at Kelly Genn's site and noticed that she had put a map cluster on her blog. She got the idea from Christina Hairgrove. I was naturally impressed so I thought "I want to be a copy cat and do that too!" Afterall, Kelly said it was easy so I thought, "Easy you say? Great, I'm all over it!"

I followed the directions the best I could. I copied what I was supposed to copy, but then I got confused. All the directions said were, "copy and put on your personal site." I didn't know where on my site I was supposed to put it. So first I tried to post it (like where I am now)- that didn't work. I tried a few other things and nothing worked. I was really getting ticked off because this was supposed to be easy! I ended up pasting it on my template. Well, when I clicked on my blog to see a job well done I gasped when I noticed that I had basically destroyed by blog. There were a bunch of letters and symbols and a few posts interspersed here and there. It was a mess! I tried to fix it, but couldn't. Then I noticed in the upper right hand corner that the little map cluster was there. I thought, "I did it! Everything else is screwed up - I don't have a blog anymore - but I have a map cluster!" In tiny print underneath the map it said "updates will be effective tomorrow." So stupid me thought, "hmmm, maybe that means that my blog will be back to normal tomorrow all on its own." I logged on this morning only to find that it was all but normal. I emailed Christina Hairgrove and gave her my username and password and she so very kindly fixed everything for me. I don't know how she figured it out, she's a genius I tell you. I am expecting a bill in the mail for her services. Thank you so much Christina!

Speaking of computer nightmare, I have another story. My brother has a myspace and so I started one so I could leave dumb comments on it. I personally don't like myspace at all so I don't use my account for any reason except to "talk" to my brother Korey. In fact, when I first started the page I was all excited because I had one friend named Tom. I couldn't figure out who he was and why he didn't leave me any comments, but then I was informed that he created myspace and is everybody's "friend." Anyhow, my brother told me I needed to change my profile on myspace because it said that I didn't want to have kids. I never touched the profile so I thought, "how did that happen?" Nonetheless, I quickly logged on to fix it. They ask you all sorts of questions like, "do you smoke? drink? are your married? do you want kids?" The problem was that underneath the questions you had to click on the dot next to your answer. My junk computer wouldn't show what the possible choices were, just the dots to click on. So I figured I would just guess which dots to click on - I mean seriously, how bad can it be? The first time I did it my profile said that I was a bisexual swinger. I thought, "OH MY GOSH! I HAVE TO CHANGE THIS!" I went back and changed my guesses, clicked "save changes" and then previewed my new profile to find that now I was a self proclaimed lesbian and proud parent. I called my brother in a panic and he just laughed at me. Thankfully I was able to correct everything. Come to think of it, Christina laughed at me too.

HA! I have to admit, I laughed too! Hopefully no one you know read all that garbage!

And don't feel bad... I'm constantly asking Shyla how to fix my stupid blog template. I tried the cluster map, too, and when I finally got it on there, it pushed my whole sidebar down to the bottom. And Shy's a little bit busy, so I just deleted it. :)

I am so glad you got your blog back to the way it is supposed to look!!! Hey, I don't have a pic to go along with my commments either. I just can't get it to work. :)

I was wondering if you knew....
On most of our "maps" there is a dot in Washington State. Am I stupid or having a blonde moment??? I was just wondering who that may be. Do you have a clue?

Heather,
I was wondering the same thing!!! It must be an NBBC person, but I don't know who? We need to do some investigating.

LOL!!! Investigating it is then. I have 3 or 4 that I just don't know where they exactly are because you can't really zoom in on the area can you?

So tell me...how do we investiage? I guess we can put it on our blog and announce it!!! :)

Oh wow, your post made me laugh. Sorry I made it sound easy, I just figured if I could do it it must be easy because I can't figure anything out. Probably just dumb luck.

Kelly,
I just noticed that you figured out how to do links too! What's up with that? You're making me feel stupid.
