Greenfield Village

Yesterday 45 people loaded our school bus and headed south to Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. The village is part of the Henry Ford Museum. We spent the day outside in sunny, 60 degree weather touring the homes of the Wright brothers, Robert Frost, George Washington Carver, Noah Webster, Willam McGuffey, and others. We strolled through Thomas Edison's factory, the printing shop, and the doctor's office - to name a few. We saw how they made glass and pottery, bikes, planes, trains and other great inventions. It was a wonderful trip! We left at 8:00 in the morning and returned at 7:00 in the evening. My kids were great! They were well behaved and punctual at each meeting time. They made me so proud!

I stayed at school last night until about 10:00 working on my lessons for the week. To my amazement, I only have 6 regular class days left to teach! In one class, I only have 2 regular class days left. There is so much yet I still want to do! Actually, in all of my classes, but one, I am further then I planned to be at this time - so we are looking good. Now is the time to begin the review and prepare for the exams. If there is one thing I don't enjoy about teaching, it is writing exams! With that being said, I must get back to work.

What grades and classes do you teach? Sounds like you are really busy getting to the end. I never truely understood the work my teachers put forth, until after I was out of school. I always thought it was an 8-3:30 job. Teachers really do give it their all!!!

Heather,
This year I teach sixth grade math, Pre-Algebra, U.S. History, P.E., and Keyboarding. I also have a ministry team. I teach grades 6-9. Each year is different, depending on what classes are being offered. Last year for instance I taught mostly 8-12 grade classes.
