As I mentioned earlier, Ben drove to Michigan to surprise me last weekend - Thank you Aunt Judy for helping to convince him to come home! It was a great weekend! It started on Friday night when my sister Kim and cousin Jess and I enjoyed a "Girls Night Out." On Saturday, several of my aunts, cousins, and grandma went shopping in Birch Run. Ben and I spent Saturday evening and Sunday with his family. His Aunt Judy and Grandma were in town which made it an extra special weekend.
I spent Monday evening with a good friend of mine, Cherie Boike. We went shopping and then out to dinner.
On Tuesday, my Dad and I went out on a date. It had been quite some time since the last time we went out - probably before I was married. I had a great time with him. Thanks Dad!
On Wednesday, my mother in law took me out to dinner. It was so nice to have one on one time with her!
Thursday I was able to go out to dinner with my best friend from high school - Liz. Her mom even gave us money to go out to dinner. How wonderful!
I took the day off from work on Friday because my sister told me she had something special planned for us. She took me to the Gateway Spa where we enjoyed full body massages, facials, pedicures, and manicures. We were totally pampered! There was a steam room, sauna, heated beds to lay in, and even heated hangers to warm up our robes before we put them on. Kim and I did everything side by side so we could chat and visit the whole day. She then took me to lunch at the Redwood Lodge. Thank you Kim for sacrificing your time and money to spend the day with me. I am so thankful for you!
I left Saturday morning for Kentucky. A couple of friends of ours, Bill and Sabrina, decided to follow me down and spend the weekend with Ben and I. Sabrina rode in the car with me so we got a lot of extra girl time. It was so nice to have the company! They took us out to dinner at the Longhorn restaurant on Saturday night - what a great place to go for dinner! Unfortunately they left us today around lunch time. It was very hard for me to say goodbye.
So here I am in Louisville, Kentucky, which is now my home. Ben and I spent a few hours today decorating our apartment to try and make it feel more cozy. Reality is starting to set it. The goodbyes have been said and the going away gifts have been given. Our friends and family have been so wonderful to us. Please pray for us as we adjust to living in this new area. Please especially pray for Ben to get a good paying job with insurance benefits. Please pray for me as I learn to trust God during this time of being outside of my comfort zone.

So glad you made it safely! We are praying for you. If you ever need to talk we still have our same cell numbers. I know that some days can be rough. Hang in there.
WOW! So much has changed for your husband and you! As I read your post, I started to cry...you are such a strong person and your testimony is so evident!! God will take care of you and Ben! I will be praying for you as you adjust to the new surroundings!
