BAPTIST PREACHER ACCEPTS JOB OFFER AT JEWISH SYNAGOGUE

Okay, so Ben isn't a preacher - just a preacher in training. But he did accept a job at the Jewish Synagogue here in Louisville. He likes to tell people that he is the new youth pastor there, but actually he is doing custodial/maintenance work. It is actually a real blessing. It's a full time job with paid vacations, life insurance, good pay, and full benefits. It is also quite flexible with his class schedule. It turns out that this is a better job than working for UPS, a popular job for seminary students.
We are hoping that this job is a real learning experience for Ben. I expect that he will learn a lot about Jewish customs and culture. During the interview he was told that he needed to respect their faith and not do anything offensive such as bring a ham sandwich or pepperoni pizza for lunch.
It will be exciting to see how God will use Ben is this position as he represents Jesus Christ to those around him.
