Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

My students are constantly making comments about my "accent." They think I talk funny. Can you believe that?!?! I found this quiz on-line and thought I would share the results. So maybe it is obvious I am from the north.

You know one of my student workers told me I have an accent and so did Josh's flight instructor. The Northeastern accent they call it. I thought it was funny. :)

When I taught in WV, my students said the same thing! Boy, their accents were way funny than mine (or so I thought).

I took the quiz and have a Western accent - a good voice for radio or TV. How nice!
