MAC or PC?

Which computer system do you use? Do you think one is better than the other? Why or why not?
I just got promoted at work and need to start using a mac for my new job. I am hoping this doesn't make my new job stressful since I am so familiar and comfortable with the pc.

Casey swears by a Mac, which is what we have here, but I think it's confusing sometimes. I'm a little computer challenged anyway.

I have used both and I was surprised when I was able to "convert" my mind over to a MAC. I am sure that you will do great!!!

Congrats on the promotion!!!

i think you'll do great on a mac. we have one now, and it was very easy for me to figure out. you can't over think a mac. it's just easy. we've even got word and excel on ours and everything seems easier in those programs as well.

MAC all the way. once your hand is on the 'keyboard' wheel, you'll never go back.

The only thing I've ever heard negative about the MAC is that it really isn't compatible with PCs, which can be a pain if you need to finish something at home. But then, this is just something I've heard and not personally experienced.

I was REALLY annoyed at our Mac when we first go it 4 years ago. I had finally mastered Windows at work. But, it didn't really take long, and now, whenever I have to deal with a PC- at relatives' or whatever - I think it's so ridiculously complicated! So, definitely Mac all the way!

katie took the words right out of my mouth. i was extremely frustrated by our mac when we first got it. but now pcs seem confusing. - macs don't get viruses like pcs, so you don't have to get all the expensive anti-virus softwares. - if i got my husband on here, he could write you a 20 page paper on how much better macs are. he has even talked our pastor into getting a mack for his next computer (even though for years he would say he would NEVER get a mac.) so, in the long run macs are better, and they don't loose their value as quickly as pcs.

i just got a macbook pro for work. our IT guy was ticked because he hates macs, but so far, i've had no trouble. i was even able to hook my mac up to the windows network all by myself. these machines are so simple and smart. you don't need to know all the coding for adding printers, drivers, etc. it automatically recognizes them. also, i just got a new video camera (for when the baby is born). i literally plugged it into my mac and it downloaded the video and played it for me - no hassle! so, if i haven't already said it, i will - MACS RULE!

I'm a pc girl but that's just because it's all I've ever owned. I've heard wonderful things about macs though (especially regarding photos and desktop publishing). Let us know how the transition goes! And congrats on your promotion! I take it they're still letting you take Owen to work with you?

With a mac you're gonna have to learn how to do some of the most basic things all over again. But once you learn all the short cuts macs can make things a lot easier.
