Parent Dedication

Unfortunately these pictures turned out really blurry. I wanted to post them anyway because they are the only pictures I have from today.
We took part in the Parent Dedication service this morning at our church. It was a time for Ben and I to publically commit ourselves to raising Owen for the glory of Jesus Christ. This service did not give Owen any merit. It doesn't mean he is a part of the faith - that is a decision we pray he will make on his own some day. The focus during this time was more on the parents. We dedicated ourselves to love each other as husband and wife and to love our family. It is our goal to create a home that is focused on the Lord and to live our lives in a way that brings glory to our Savior.
Does your church do something similar? Have you taken part in a Parent or Baby Dedication Service?

Congrats to you! Our church has a Baby Dedication on Mother's Day each year. What a special and proud day for you both!

Wow, that is pretty much what our service was about this morning! Pastor Mark had all the families with little ones come up and he prayed for us and everybody came up after the service and told us they have been praying for us, too. It was great morning!

you look like a lovely family, blurry or not. Yes our church does have a baby dedication for the benefit of the parents. haven't taken part, yet, but we hope to.
