We had visitors two weekends in a row! Grandma and Grandpa Glupker came down Friday night and stayed until Monday morning. Owen was very excited when they walked in the door. I didn't think he would remember them since he hadn't seen them in 3.5 months, but he sure acted like he remembered.
We went to Cherokee park, one of our favorite places to walk.
It's amazing how much fun a boy can have with a stick.
Giving out hugs and "thank yous" for the Easter goodies.
Giving kisses Goodbye.
Owen took his nap right after saying goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa. When he woke up he ran out into the living room looking around. When he realized nobody was there he started to cry, and cry, and cry. Our conversation went something like this:
Owen took his nap right after saying goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa. When he woke up he ran out into the living room looking around. When he realized nobody was there he started to cry, and cry, and cry. Our conversation went something like this:
Me: "Owen do you want a drink?"
Owen: (crying) "No"
Me: "Do you want a snack?"
Owen: "No."
Me: "Do you want to listen to music" (which always gets a yes!)
Owen: "NO"
Me: " Do you want to color?"
Owen: "nooooo" (sounding very frustrated)
Me: "Do you want to call Grandma on the phone?"
Owen: with tears streaming down his face, "YESSSSS"
So we call Grandma. And she doesn't answer. I leave a message and say, "bye" at the end. Owen looks at me and says, "bye-bye?????" I explain that Grandma couldn't talk. And so the tears started all over. He sure loves Grandma. By the way, Grandma, you still haven't called back! If you're at the library reading this, Owen would love to talk to you!

That's so sweet! When my mom was here a few weeks ago, Eli wouldn't say good bye to her or hug her - he knew something was up. When they pulled away from the airport, he whimpered, and knew it wasn't a good thing! Children know a lot more than we give them credit for I think!!
