Little Soccer Player

Owen continues to enjoy playing soccer once a week. He loves his coach, Coach Rob (who he sometimes calls Coach Job). Owen has learned so much! He knows how to stretch his thigh and calf muscles as well as his "hammies." He knows how to dribble the ball, hit it with his head, score a goal and follow the coach's instructions. He's learning the game of soccer, he is getting lots of physical exercise and he is following the directions of another adult. It really has been a great experience for him. It's been a wonderful winter activity for him and it's a joy for me to watch him interact with other children in organized play.

Before Christmas Owen and Ben were watching a soccer game on T.V. I'm not sure who noticed it first, but one of them pointed out to the other that one of the players had on a jersey with the name "Owen" on it. This excited my Owen very much! So Daddy did some searching and found him a jersey with his name on it. It's still too big, hanging to his knees, but he loves it! He proudly wore it to soccer practice this week.

When we take a picture of Owen he either gets a super serious face . . .
or a cheesy one. We are still working on that "natural" smile for pictures.
