Don't let the title fool you, I do not think I am a queen or believe I deserve to be called one. But in our home, I am treated like royalty! Ben does a great job of following the principles in Ephesians 5:25, "husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her."
Ben asks that I call him when I am leaving work each day, basically because there is no telling when I am going to be home. So last night I called him to tell him I was on my way. When I pulled in he was outside waiting for me. I put the car in park and he came over and opened the door for me. He gave me his hand to help me get out, grabbed all of my books and held my hand as we walked up to our apartment. When we got in he took off my coat, asked me how my day was, rubbed my feet, and told me we were going out on a date. I put on the outfit he laid out for me to wear and we were out the door. We went to dinner and then out shopping. He picked out and purchased some new clothes for me and waited patiently as I tried everything on.
This type of behavior is not unusual for my husband. He often picks out my clothes (because I hate deciding what to wear every day), and carries things for me - including my purse! If Ben is around, you will not see me opening a door for myself or pulling out my own chair. I'm telling you, he treats me like a queen. I am such a blessed woman.

Very, sweet. But I am not suprised. I read it to Jeff and he said, "Yup, Ben's a nice guy." I think he missed the point. Hey Kel, look at me... I'm blogging! Are you proud of me? Check out my blog page.
Kimbe,
Yup, Ben is a nice guy - I feel so lucky to be his wife. Sorry Jeff missed you're point, but I got it. :)
I am glad to see you're blogging - keep it up!
Wow, he actually picks out your clothes for you?!? I don't think I'd trust my hubby's sense of fashion with that job! How sweet that he treated you to a much needed relaxing date night! A teacher's life is a hard one and you need your hubby's support.
Alicia,
Yeah Ben picks out my clothes. Isn't that funny? Actually I think he has a better sense of fashion than I do. I am not the most trendy person. In fact, sometimes I get frustrated when I go shopping because he will tell me that he doesn't like what I have picked out. He doesn't care if I buy it, but I usually don't if he doesn't like it because he has such good taste. He picks out most of my shoes too. The other day one of my students told me she loved my shoes. (I didn't really care for them at first). I smiled and told her Ben had picked them out. He's great - but people that know him would NEVER guess that he cared about clothes.
Kelly:
Wow, I'm still in awe of your fashion-conscious hubby. THat is so opposite of my Matt. Sounds like you two are a good match for each other that way! I buy and pick out all of Matt's clothes and in the 4 years that we've been married I've almost succeeded in purging his pre-me wardrobe. It's mostly been a slow process but there were a few shirts that disappeared mysteriously right away. :)
